“PRIMORDIAL”

THE MAGIC OF PRIMORDIAL BRACELET

Once upon a time…

I was visiting an artisanal show of handmade knives in Corsica, the beautiful island I am from in France.

I noticed beautiful knives with carved horn handles. In the display was a flat piece of goat’s horn, with a beautiful organic texture. I was immediately inspired and envisioned a silver bracelet with this organic horn quality.

I asked the artisan if I could buy the flat piece of horn, he very gentle said, “It is not for sale, it is my display.”

I was very disappointed, and I guess he sensed this. He took the knives off which were on top of the goat’s horn. He held the treasure out to me…I looked at him surprised. I took it gently like a very precious piece of jewelry, and looking the man straight in the eyes with kindness I said, “It is so beautiful.” Silently meaning “are you sure, you don’t want to sell it to me?” with a big smile and my heart pounding in my chest.

It was a magical moment.

I extended it back to him, when he pushed my hand back toward me. I was surprised and not fully understanding. Then he said something even more surprising, “this is for you.” I looked at him with surprise in my eyes…not believing what was happening…I asked him how much it was. He replied, “It is a gift to you.” I could feel his happiness in making me happy.

Then he asked me, “Now, do you know how you will make your bracelet from it?” I answered, “No, I don’t know. I will find maybe a way to make a cast from it…”

…so he told me “I’m gonna tell you how you can make one from this same flat piece of Horn.” Then he shared the magic secret of how to do it!

Not only did I now have the piece I was so in love with as a gift, but also the precious gift of the process to mold to the size of my wrist.

10 years after this, the first “Primordial” silver bracelet was cast here in downtown Los Angeles by an artisan originally from Lebanon.

The circle is closed; the Lebanese are called the Corsicans of the Middle East due to their rebellious and resilient traits. 🙂

“Primordial” is something that connects me to the origins, ancestral, wild, primal forces of nature.

Horn which points toward the sky…the Light.

Symbol of elevation, connection to the divine, and Light incarnated.

A portion of the proceeds is given to the children at the Destitute and Orphan Children Safeguarding Foundation.
